- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 24 ounces marinara sauce
- 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, milk, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
- Arrange the meatballs in a single layer in a 10-inch oven-safe skillet.
- Pour the marinara sauce over the meatballs.
- Cover the skillet with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
- Remove the foil and top the meatballs and sauce with the sliced mozzarella cheese.
- Return the skillet to the oven, uncovered, and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the meatballs are cooked through.
- Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meatball mixture.
- Serve with crusty bread for dipping.
