Description

A fast and flavorful Cajun-inspired shrimp pasta dish ready in 15 minutes.


Ingredients

  • 12 ounces linguine
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook linguine according to package directions. Drain, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  2. While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add shrimp and Cajun seasoning. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
  4. Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Cook for 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Stir in Parmesan cheese and reserved pasta water (start with 1/4 cup and add more if needed to reach desired consistency).
  7. Return shrimp to the skillet. Add cooked linguine and toss to combine.
  8. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Adjust Cajun seasoning to your spice preference.
  • For a spicier dish, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • If you don’t have heavy cream, half-and-half can be used, but the sauce may be thinner.
