Description

A simple recipe for a classic Mai Tai cocktail.


Ingredients

  • 2 oz light rum
  • 1 oz dark rum
  • 1 oz orange curaçao
  • 1 oz orgeat syrup
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • Garnish: mint sprig, lime wedge, cherry

Instructions

  1. Combine light rum, orange curaçao, orgeat syrup, lime juice, and simple syrup in a shaker filled with ice.
  2. Shake well until chilled.
  3. Strain into a glass filled with crushed ice.
  4. Float the dark rum on top.
  5. Garnish with a mint sprig, lime wedge, and cherry.

Notes

  • For a sweeter drink, add a little more simple syrup.
  • For a stronger drink, increase the rum amounts.
